According to the same source who revealed the first screenshot of Assassin's Creed II: Black Flag (later proved false), Ubisoft is still at work on Rainbow 6: Patriots, and the project was moved entirely to the next-gen. Already 6 months ago another rumor reported similar news, and this latest indiscretion can only confirm this hypothesis. Also in Ubisoft's financial reports released today has mentioned a " game of a franchise that we all know ," referring most likely to Rainbow 6: Patriots. It only remains to wait for more updates, maybe during E3 in Los Angeles.
