Thief: the development does not proceed for the better

The development of Thief doesn't seem to go for the better: several anonymous sources have revealed to Polygon that the development team has serious internal conflicts, with lots of "boycotts" among the various members that discard whatever the ideas of others on which he had worked up to that point and start new ideas, demonstrating how the project is not seen in the same way by everyone.

These continuous changes of ideas are due mainly to the fact that several members have left the project or were laid off, including the composer and audio Director Paul Wir, lead level designer Pierre-Olivier Clement and his successor Adam Alim, two senior concept artist, a senior technical level designer, a senior animator and another senior level designer. Each new Member to replace the old completely deleted or modified all the work done, so that the current version of the game only vaguely reminiscent of the initial concept.

The team also seems to be having problems with the Unreal Engine 3, and the result for now does not meet expectations, indeed Thief was one of the prominent absentees at the GDC 2013 despite earlier had planned a public demonstration, while eventually was held only in private for a few reporters.

To all this we add Finally, recent financial problems of Square Enix, Publisher of Thief, which led to the resignation of President Yoichi Wada, and it remains to be seen whether the new CEO Yosuke Matsuda (who will officially the command in June) will also bring economic project cuts to save his company.

The Thief 's future doesn't look very rosy, and it only remains to wait for further updates to know how it will end. We hope also a demonstration at E3 2013 to see with our own eyes how is actually developing.
