Eidos clarifies statements on Thief: it won't be mainstream

After the statements by Nicolas Cantin of Eidos Montreal for Thief , who made many fear to a dangerous drift action of the series, the same project Director is back on the subject by explaining that he had been misunderstood.

Cantin explained that what he said about wanting to create a less Gothic and Garrett from more mainstream appeal weren't related to the hero as we known in previous games but he was referring to a version of Garrett created at the beginning of the development of the game, which had been made extremely black nails with Gothic and other features of the genre; saying that will be less Gothic referred then to that first design. And even when explained by wanting to make more "mainstream", was actually a throwback to the classic series Garrett.
