Eidos on new Garrett of Thief: less Gothic, more action

In an interview with GameInformer, the game director of Thief Nicolas Cantin has released some new details on the new Garrett, stating that " Eidos Montreal has had carte blanche on the design of the protagonist, and even if we didn't want to detach ourselves too much from the original DNA we have made some changes to the costume and other details to make it more palatable to new audiences to modern consoles. We have removed some Gothic elements too, such as black fingernails, and made some changes to the dress to give the impression that Garrett is a character most voted to action. "

Cantin had previously also worked on the design of Altair in Assassin's Creed , and taking it as an example he added: " both have an almost mystical aura, however can be recognized as top rated the action figures that much like the public, so you can be part of the Group of the most famous video game heroes. My goal will be make an anti-hero like Garrett also popular in mainstream culture. "

Note again that the interview was based solely on the aesthetic side of the protagonist, and that this does not mean that Thief is an action game.
