Against-rumor: Xbox 3 is more powerful than the PS4 will ray tracing graphics

Here is a wonderful demonstration of how the rumor, especially when it comes to "hot" topics like the next-gen, can start shooting like crazy to the point of spinning tops make it impossible to understand where is the truth, if it is present. Almost simultaneously with the controversial rumors and PS4 Xbox 3 posted by VG247, the English site NowGamer has published well two articles that seem to say the exact opposite, as well as reveal other details about the new console.

Wouldn't even have to say it, but we reiterate as rumor of this type are to be taken with extreme caution: we are all that circulates on major web sites, but we do not know how much of this will be confirmed when they announced the new console.

That said, let's see what says NowGamer, who like their English colleagues says he received the information from an insider familiar with the facts. According to the source of the magazine, while PS4 will be capable of an output of approximately 3.2 teraFLOPS, the new Xbox will reach 4.2: thanks to a microprocessor that third House in Redmond would switched at the last moment, and especially thanks to a "blitter", a processor whose only task is to speed up the exchange of information between the various components of the console. It also seems that the Microsoft console has a more "personalized" architecture, while Sony would have a more standard architecture, from PC. And apparently, the fact of having a less-efficient hardware, is also creating problems of overheating to dev kit Sony.

The source said then that PS4, albeit capable of delivering video to 4 k resolution, scaling the images would have a lower graphic quality to the car competitor, which might count even on a lighting in ray tracing, a cutting-edge technique and very expensive place too, currently only used by filmmakers studies in computer graphics. This alone might be enough to make us label the news like a shot without foundation, but we're here for the record.

If you want to learn more, we recommend reading the two articles published from NowGamer, one more general and the other dedicated specifically to the aspect of performance. Until the next rumor that probably set to disappoint both those leaked today.
