The remake of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee has a name, details

Eurogamer Expo Lorne Lanning, Oddworld's creator, has revealed the first gameplay of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New N ' Tasty! , the definitive name of the already known HD remake of the glorious Abe's Oddysee released in 1997 on PS1. For the occasion has been officially confirmed that the title also arrives on Xbox 360 Live Arcade title: here are some details on the title as well as a first set of pictures and video of your presentation, with gameplay that begins at minute 41: 25.

Lanning explained that he did not want to put the HD in writing title because this is not a simple porting of old game with graphical improvements, but a real remake created from scratch, with graphics and three-dimensional models, dynamic lighting and other modern visualization techniques, but keeping the classic 2D gameplay.

Main novelty is the camera that will follow the player, eliminating the old system of " Flip screen ", where the stage was fixed and once you get to the end you loaded a new part. Now the game will be much more fuildo and continuously, although this will lead to small changes, as explained by this example: " in the original game at some point there's a member named Slig who sleeps, and if you approach him awake. To make sure that you fall asleep again needed only to go back to the previous level section, and when you ricaricava the piece with the member named Slig he slept again. Now that this is no longer possible, if the member named Slig wakes you must hide and wait for 10 seconds, and at that time lapse the enemy will then return to its original position and fall asleep again. They are minor changes, we have not changed the fundamental gameplay but only modernized because it is no longer a game screen flip "

The game will be identical to the original at 90%, with more cambimenti as a quick save system, better balance and minor differences in the puzzles too difficult.

The game will be available on the Marketplace for fall 2013, although were not specified the exact date and price.
