Rumor: problems in the development of BioShock Infinite
The site spoke with several sources close to Irrational which affirm that the development of BioShock Infinite is not going quite as expected: it seems that the team has problems in achieving the ambitious project which they had shown in the first video, and that this has forced them to cut the development of two multiplayer modes to enhance the processing on the main game. These modalities should be both co-op, a similar to Spec-Ops of CoD and set in the levels of the main story, and more particularly in which players were being reduced and placed into a cab from playroom to complete a series of missions in tower defense style.
According to Kotaku's sources, it seems that these problems have led several members of the team to get discouraged about the project and leave the team: in this regard, the recent passage of Rod Fergusson from Epic to Irrational seems motivated by the fact of wanting to strengthen managerial staff to track the project.
If all this were true, it is possible that the game suffers a further slippage or, in stores, is partially reduced compared to initial promises. But it could also be that none of this is true and that the rumors are exaggerated: asked by Kotaku, Ken Levine of Irrational stated that the game is currently on track to meet the release of February 2013. We will update you as soon as we know more.
