The full demo and kinematics of the Unreal Engine 4
In the first movie, the Senior Technical Artist for Epic, Alan Willard, shows us one by one from the kinematics used environments: what stands out, and that will be one of the strengths of next-gen, are mostly graphics, the best cleansing effects of light and shade, the most advanced lighting but also thousands of particle effects that give an extra touch of spectacularity to everything. The intention of the developers is to get closer to realism: If suddenly the room Windows are closed, not doing more to filter the light, only for first there would be a complete darkness, simulating the way in which the human eye you get used to the darkness, they would begin to see some of the objects even in the dark. Also smoking is far more realistic than in the past: If generated by the fire inside the cloud of smoke assist with reddish lighting effects generated in real time while the smoke itself will be subject to external sunlight and shadow, making it very dynamic.
In the second movie we see instead to kinematics which sees an armored demon who with his awakening unleashes lava and flames around him while the landscape is divided into two: on one side there are some very sharp peaks with snowflakes falling from the opposite side of the Vortex while an erupting volcano emits ash and dust that make dark sky.
In short, the next-gen seems promising. The demonstration held by Willard was on a computer with a single graphics card, probably the same Nvidia GTX 680 of Kepler previous closed-door demo held at GDC. Mike Capps, President of Epic Games, he finally said that his company is working on several games for the next generation of consoles and that one of these will be strictly directed to the audience instead of PC gamer.
