Da diversi anni ormai ogni E3 porta con sé le premiazioni dei giochi più apprezzati dalla critica, tra quelli visti nel corso dell'evento losangelino; e questa notte una giuria di giornalisti appartenenti alle più qualificate testate internazionali ha decretato i vincitori del Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2009. Sony porta a casa il premio più ambito, il "Best of Show", grazie al visivamente sbalorditivo Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, mentre Microsoft porta a casa il premio di Miglior Periferica con Project Natal.

Xbox 360 vede inoltre premiato il maggior numero di esclusive, con Mass Effect 2 come Miglior Gioco di Ruolo, Left 4 Dead 2 per il Miglior Multiplayer Online e Supreme Commander 2 come Miglior Titolo Strategico. Molto interessante poi il premio per Miglior Racing Game, ricevuto da Split/Second che così vince sui favoriti Forza Motorsport 3 e Need For Speed: SHIFT: terremo d'occhio questa nuova promessa del panorama corsistico arcade.
