Bloober Team reveals the gameplay of the sci-fi horror game Cronos: The New Dawn
Cronos: The New Dawn puts us in the shoes of a time traveler who starts from a post-apocalyptic world in Poland in the 80s to move back in time. The Traveler, this is his name, is an agent of the enigmatic Collective with the mission of extracting important people from the past who failed to survive the apocalypse and bringing them to the present time. To complete the Collective's mission, we will have to survive in a deadly wasteland created by a cataclysmic event known as the Change, full of monstrous abominations that will put our skills to the test.
In the video we read the words "Don't Let Them Merge", which indicates one of the main mechanics of the game: downed enemies will not remain inert for long, and if we do not burn their bodies they can be absorbed by other enemies. Through a grotesque process known as "Merging," enemies evolve into faster, stronger, more resilient, and more terrifying abominations, gaining new abilities in battle.
In addition to the combat system, the new trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn shows us the weapons and terrifying new enemies of the game, all against the backdrop of a decaying brutalist architecture, warped by the anomalies that distort reality itself. There are also brief previews of new enigmatic characters, each with their own hidden goals and secrets. The game promises a story full of cryptic secrets and a growing feeling of unease that never subsides.
We leave you to the video, accompanied by a series of new images: enjoy!
