Here we are: summer is approaching, and with it the great videogame events of the central part of the year. The first to reveal his plans to us is the inevitable Geoff Keighley, who has just announced the date of this year's Summer Game Fest event: Friday 6 June at 23:00.

As usual, it will be a two-hour event during which new games will be announced, important revelations made and the future of the world of video games will be shown.

This also gives us a clue as to when this year's Xbox Games Showcase might be: given that Microsoft's event traditionally takes place on the Sunday after the SGF, it's likely to take place on June 8. Of course, we will keep you updated on this as well.
