Onimusha: Way of the Sword introduces us to its protagonist in video

Capcom today released a new trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, in which we meet the protagonist Miyamoto Musashi, a legendary figure in Japanese history. In the game, Musashi is a young and ferocious samurai who, by a supernatural twist of fate, finds himself wielding an Oni glove and fighting hordes of demonic Genma.

Musashi's face is modeled after Toshiro Mifune, the late and iconic Japanese movie star who played Musashi in classic samurai films. Onimusha: Way of the Sword takes place in Kyoto, which has been corrupted by malevolent clouds of Malice that have summoned hell in the world of the living and thrown the capital of feudal Japan into chaos. Equipped with an Oni gauntlet, Musashi gains power beyond human limits that allows him to slay the monstrosities of the underworld, including the destructive axe-wielding Byakue, whose power increases when he soaks in his own blood.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is the first new installment in the Onimusha series in nearly two decades, combining a rich blend of history and myth with cutting-edge combat. The game is all about sword fights, with an emphasis on cutting enemies and the tension of deciding when to absorb their souls in the heat of battle.

We leave you to the new trailer: enjoy!
