Remedy announces FBC: Firebreak, Co-op spin-off of Control coming to Game Pass

Remedy today surprisingly announced FBC: Firebreak, a new game dedicated to the Federal Bureau of Control that this time moves away from the story-driven third-person titles for which the Finnish studio is known for offering us a first-person PvE FPS experience, as FBC agents. The game is coming in 2025, included in Game Pass at launch.

After the events of Control, the world is still reeling from the paranormal anomalies that threaten global security. The FBC has therefore established a new rapid response unit, called Firebreak, composed of highly trained agents equipped with special equipment known as "paranatural augments". These tools give agents unique abilities, allowing them to deal with paranormal threats more effectively, such as the Garden Gnome, which can be used to create protective barriers or attack enemies.

The main mission of the players is to investigate and neutralize the paranormal anomalies that emerge in various parts of the world. Each mission takes players to different locations, each with their own challenges and mysteries to solve. During missions, players will discover story snippets that reveal more about the FBC's dark past and the hidden secrets of the world of Control. As players progress through the game, they will be able to unlock new abilities and upgrades, customizing their character to suit their playstyle.

Missions are designed to be replayable, with objectives that can vary and enemies that change positions, offering new challenges all the time. Players will also be able to customize their character with different abilities and upgrades, adapting their playstyle to the needs of the mission. The game offers a first-person combat experience, with a wide variety of weapons and paranormal abilities available to players. Players will face a variety of paranormal enemies, each with unique behaviors and abilities that require different strategies to defeat, while the environments will be rich in detail and interactive, where players will be able to find clues and solve puzzles to progress through the story.

The game is designed to evolve over time, with new content, missions, and abilities that will be added post-launch, keeping the experience fresh and immersive. In addition, Special events and temporary challenges will be organized that will offer unique rewards and additional gameplay opportunities. This is to keep players interested in continuing to explore the world of Control and uncover new secrets and paranormal threats.

We leave you with the announcement trailer and a set of images.
