Zampella: the next Battlefield will return to modern warfare and the origins of the series

During an interview with IGN, Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella revealed the first details about the next Battlefield. In 2021, the founder of Infinity Ward and creator of Call of Duty was placed by EA in charge of the development of DICE's new FPS, with the aim of bringing the series back to the success of the past.

Zampella explained to IGN that the new Battlefield, of which you can see a first concept art above, will see a return of the series to modern warfare, but not only: Zampella also wants to reintroduce 64-player maps and a return to the class system, to bring the series back to the glories of what he considers the best episodes, i.e. Battlefield 3 and 4. These are his words:

I mean, if you look at the peak or peak of Battlefield, it's the era of Battlefield 3... Battlefield 4, where everything was modern. I think we have to go back to the heart of what Battlefield is and do it incredibly well, and then we'll see how it turns out. But I think for me the peak of Battlefield was reached at the time of Battlefield 3 and 4. So I think it's a nostalgic era for the players, for me, even for the development team. These are the golden times... but I would also say Battlefield 1942.

We therefore await more information on the game, which should arrive by the end of 2025.
