Xbox August Update: Improved Game Installation and Discord Integration

Microsoft today announced the release of the Xbox August update, which introduces two useful new features. The first is related to the installation of games: for titles that include optional components, during the download phase it will be possible to choose which of these to download or not.

This feature is made in view of the arrival of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, to allow players to choose what to install between Campaign, Multiplayer and Warzone. As you can see in the image above, a special window will allow you to choose what to download, with an indication of the space occupied by each component. Obviously this feature will be usable by all games that want to take advantage of it, for example to download additional language packs or components that players may not want.

The other news is related to the integration with Discord: it has been made easier to find your friends and channels from the console, which you will now find grouped in the same tab of the Xbox friends list, and also from today it will be possible to follow Discord live directly from the console.

An accessibility feature for the Elite controller and the Adaptive Controller also finds a place in the update: from the accessory configuration app it is now possible to select the setting that allows you to simulate the continuous pressing of a button by pressing it quickly only once, and then deactivating the pressure by pressing it again.
