Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games today announced Directive 8020, the new adventure in The Dark Pictures series that moves us this time to a sci-fi setting, but no less horrific, combining intense survival gameplay with a branching narrative plot, which sees the participation of actress Lashana Lynch (Bob Marley: One Love, The Woman King) as the revolutionary astronaut "Young".

The game will include several new features for the series, such as persistent real-time threats, new stealth mechanics and interactive cinematic sequences, enhanced thanks to Unreal Engine 5.

The Earth is dying, and humanity has run out of time. 12 light-years from home, Tau Ceti f offers a glimmer of hope. When the colony ship Cassiopeia crashes on the planet, its crew members soon realize that they are not alone.

Hunted by alien organisms capable of imitating their prey, the Cassiopeia crew members will have to outsmart their pursuers to return home alive. As they fight to survive, they are faced with a truly difficult choice: to save their lives, they must put the lives of the other inhabitants of Earth at risk.
