CoD Black Ops 6: Zombies mode is shown in a gameplay trailer, first details

Activision's revelation of the new Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the highly anticipated war FPS coming to Xbox Game Pass on October 24, continues: the Microsoft studio has released a new trailer showing the maps and gameplay of this mode, along with a series of interesting information.

Here is everything below.

Zombies returns in rounds

  • Black Ops 6 marks the return of the round-based version of Zombies.
  • The fan-favorite mode allows players (1 to 4) to form teams to take down increasingly challenging waves of the undead.
  • The mode offers two new maps at launch: Liberty Falls and Terminus.
  • Black Ops 6 Zombies continues the Dark Aether storyline in 1991 and after the events of Black Ops Cold War, when the island of Terminus becomes the epicenter of a new epidemic.
  • A deep narrative, centered on and told through a group of Zombie characters available from the beginning: Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Mackenzie 'Mac' Carver and Maya Aguinaldo, as well as a supporting cast of both new and existing characters.
    • Players who play as these four characters will experience the story even more through additional dialogue and interactions between team members.
  • Fan-favorite Zombies features return, including GobbleGums, deep weapon customization, progression, and mode-specific systems.
  • The mode offers a mix of powerful weapons and upgrades, deadly enemies, and tons of secrets to discover.
    • The all-new boost-based progression system offers a rich and innovative customization experience, allowing players to unlock three major and three minor upgrades for each pack, ammo, and field upgrades.
    • You can unlock additional power-ups to adopt your preferred playstyle just by playing Zombies. Players will be able to unlock over 100 upgrades at launch, with many more coming in seasons following launch.
  • Players will encounter different types of Zombies and grotesque enemies that evolve, such as the new Worms and Parasites. Higher rounds will feature more challenging enemies.
  • A new Spotted Melee Perk-a-Cola is designed to deal a deadly punch to nearby enemies.
  • GobbleGums are single-use items that can be earned in-game to gain benefits.
  • For the first time in Black Ops 6 Zombies, players can also choose to play in third-person mode and activate user interface elements such as the enemy life bar and numbers showing zombie damage in the settings bar.

Map of Terminus Island

  • Set on an island in the Philippine Sea, Terminus is one of the largest round-based maps Treyarch has ever made, and it's full of experiences to discover and explore.
  • Terminus introduces a drivable vehicle for the first time in Zombies in rounds with the Project Janus tactical barge, which players can pilot to reach the outer islands and the abandoned wreck.
  • You can equip an all-new Beamsmasher magic weapon with two different types of fire that use sound frequency and light energy to achieve devastating effects.
  • Environment-specific random encounters bring the map to life. In a match, a prison guard could be devoured by zombies before the player can save her; In the next one, two zombies could transform and attack the player as they enter a corridor that was previously empty.

Map of Liberty Falls

  • The second Zombies launch map is set in Liberty Falls, West Virginia.
  • More information will be available in the coming weeks.

The new system characterized by absolute movement

  • Movement in all modes has been redefined like never before thanks to absolute movement, which allows players to move realistically and chain movements together like a true action hero.
  • Absolute Movement allows players to sprint, slide, and dive in any direction, as well as the new Supine Prone ability, which gives players the ability to rotate while prone, giving Black Ops 6 players greater freedom of movement and tactical flexibility.
  • Movement innovations also include new intelligent movement, a group of optional settings that reduce the number of button presses required to traverse the map, and "corner slicing," which dynamically rotates the player's weapon as soon as the corner is turned to the next room.
  • The traditional Classic Prestige loved by fans also returns from day one. Bigger and more rewarding than ever, there's always something to progress towards.
  • There's also the new option to use UI presets, including the ability to move the mini-map and remove UI elements for a minimalist design.
