During the Xbox Game Showcase, Mixtape was announced, an action-adventure from the Beethoven & Dinosaur development team, the same as the splendid Artful Escape. The trailer showed us the setting and characters of this new Annapurna adventure coming in 2025, included at launch in the Game Pass.

Today, during the Xbox Games Showcase, developer Beethoven and Dinosaur (The Artful Escape) and publisher Annapurna Interactive revealed Mixtape, an action adventure that builds on the joy and emotional power of mixtapes. Mixtape will feature music from iconic artists such as DEVO, Roxy Music, Lush, The Smashing Pumpkins, Iggy Pop, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division and many more, and follows three teenagers as they prepare to graduate from high school and leave their Northern California hometown.

On the journey to their last party together, a perfectly curated playlist draws them into dreamlike re-enactments of the pivotal moments that shaped them. Players will immerse themselves in the teen wasteland by playing with a mixtape of joyful games, from skateboarding to flying, from taking photos after hours at an abandoned theme park to hitting baseballs and setting up a fireworks display from the back seat of a car. It is the greatest hits of teenage friendship, from the first kiss to the last dance.

Mixtape draws inspiration from classic teenage movies, bringing together nostalgia, mischief, music, the ups and downs of adolescence, and the bittersweet feelings that come with growing up, transforming, and moving forward.
