The Xbox Games Showcase couldn't start stronger than this, after the announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in the éass it is now the turn of DOOM: The Dark Ages, medieval version of the historic id Software brand of which the violent and spectacular gameplay is revealed. DOOM: The Dark Ages is also expected in Game Pass on day one, in 2025.

A prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal, this single-player first-person action shooter will see players take on the role of the bloodied DOOM Slayer, the ultimate superweapon of gods and rulers, in a medieval war against Hell.

Players will tear enemies to shreds with the series' most famous devastating weapons, such as the shotgun, and a variety of powerful new tools of destruction, including the versatile saw shield. Fight your way through demon-infested battlefields in bloody combat inspired by the original DOOM. Take to the skies on the back of the brutal mechanical dragon and grind titanic demons to a pulp aboard the massive Atlan mech. DOOM: The Dark Ages, the origin story of the cinematic Slayer's fury, will be released for Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5 in 2025.
