Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream, isometric tactical stealth game, announced
The game, set during the war of a fictional country reminiscent of Europe in the early 1900s, features interesting isometric graphics, with an extremely cinematic approach to storytelling. Here are the official details and the announcement trailer.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is a narrative-driven stealth strategy adventure game from River End Games, a Gothenburg-based studio made up of fifteen veteran AAA developers, whose titles include Battlefield, Little Nightmares, Mirror's Edge, and Unravel.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is a character-driven, single-player game set in the town of Eriksholm, a fictional town in a fictional world heavily influenced by an early 20th-century Nordic-inspired aesthetic. It tells the story of three protagonists united by fire in their hearts to defy their oppressors. The reveal trailer introduces the protagonist Hanna, an orphaned teenager searching for her brother Herman. A sequence of events follows that turns Hanna into a reluctant hero, inspiring her and her friends to emerge from the slums of Eriksholm to become symbols of change.
From a top-down 3D perspective, players will embody the three playable protagonists, move through the densely detailed streets and gloomy dungeons of the city of Eriksholm, using each character's unique abilities, tools, and weapons to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles. Players can freely move the game's camera to observe the environment, plan their next step, and execute it with perfect timing. A listening dialogue, such as the chatter of a context-sensitive guard, can also prove useful in finding the best strategic move to advance without getting caught, as challenges can have multiple solutions.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream expertly blends the art of storytelling, stealth, and strategy-based gameplay mechanics to provide players with a gripping adventure with high-value visuals, motion-captured performance, and immersive real-time gameplay.
