Koei Tecmo and Japanese studio Omega Force today announced what has been called their "most ambitious musou game ever made": Dynasty Warriors: Origins, which will bring back to our screens the "1v1,000" action for which the series is now famous.

The game will introduce, for the first time in the series, a story told through the eyes of an "unnamed hero", who will find himself fighting against huge armies as chaos erupts in the Three Kingdoms, on a journey to discover the vast lands of China and its most ruthless generals yet.

Thanks to the power of the new consoles, the developers promise unprecedented size and reach of enemy armies. Coordination with allied armies will be key, as players will be able to deploy battle tactics in real-time while fighting their way through waves of soldiers in tense combat.
