Enotria: Jyamma Games clarifies the situation on Xbox and confirms future launch

Yesterday the Milanese studio Jiyamma Games announced that the souls-like inspired by the Italian folk tradition, Enotria: The Last Song, would skip the Xbox release at launch to allow the developers to focus on the other versions. This caused strong discussions among fans, and CEO Giacomo Greco wanted to officially intervene with a "Letter to the Xbox community".

In this letter, Greco explains the reasons that led to this decision, but above all he has publicly committed to the future release of the game on Xbox: once it is released on other platforms, the team will start working on this version.

Here is the full letter:

LETTER TO THE XBOX COMMUNITY

Jyamma Games officially apologizes to all Xbox players.

We are well aware that the news of the non-presence on Xbox on day one is causing a lot of discussion about it and we want to clarify some aspects of the story with this official statement.
We have been discussing internally the simultaneous release on all platforms for some time, I'm sorry to have communicated it only now, but it is a decision that has been made recently, (this is demonstrated by the fact that not even FGS knew about it), after I was officially informed that, making the release on all platforms would have resulted in a drop in the general quality of the product as well as a further delay of the same.
I want you to know that the delay caused by the launch on the same date of one of our competitors has given us the opportunity to take more time to further improve the product, this has led to raising the bar and I, as CEO, am responsible for the final quality of the product.
That said, I would never have allowed our game to be released discreetly on all platforms, I prefer the game to be perfect on 2 platforms rather than decent on 3.
When we release the game we will also get to work on the Xbox version, as well as on the dlc, so that we can give the game to Microsoft users as well.
The choice fell on PS5 rather than Xbox simply because we have a relationship with our partners in Asia (SEGA) with whom we have agreements that we want to respect as a matter of esteem towards them.
As you all may know, the Asian market is largely dominated by the playstation, so PS5 was the most logical choice.
I would like to point out a few things, however, Jyamma Games is an independent software house that has never been funded by anyone, including Microsoft, some accusations that have been made against us by some users are bordering on the lawsuit regarding this matter.

I hope that now everything is a little clearer and that the Xbox community does not take it for a choice of mine that was obligatory.

GIACOMO GRECO
CEO | Jyamma Games
