11 bit studios announces Frostpunk 2, arrives in Game Pass at launch
Here's the official description of the game, followed by the announcement trailer and a set of screenshots.
The sequel is the highly anticipated sequel to 11-bit studios' original city-builder, which earned praise for its deft blend of strategic gameplay and emergent, emotional storytelling. Released this year, Frostpunk 2 remains centered on the story of a people grappling with a harsh reality. As in life, some individuals exert more driving force than others, but when trying to ensure the sustainability and survival of your city, this power provides little relief.
As an Administrator in Frostpunk 2, you'll oversee an ever-growing metropolis and carefully weigh the needs and demands of its society. Your people are worried about the fate of their children and the crimes in the streets. They complain about unhealthy squalor, compounded by industrial growth, but they need jobs. What if you can't afford to reward their toil with food and shelter or take care of their health? You can't please everyone, and when radical factions start to arise, all it takes is a small spark to set the tension running.
Thirty years after the Great Storm, tyranny is over. Delegates can vote, with or without certain convictions, to pass laws that satisfy the will of the citizens and steer the entire city towards one of many futures.
All with a mantra that echoes in everyone's minds: The City must not fall.
But will you be the one to endure and witness his triumph?
