Dragon Age: Dreadwolf shows us the Rift of Thedas, revelation in summer 2024

More than a year after the game's announcement , BioWare today released a new trailer for the long-awaited RPG Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in which we are offered a look at the lands of Thedas and the cities that reside there, apparently represented with in-engine graphics.

And don't be surprised if the trailer opens with the mention of a city called Treviso: no, the game is not set in Veneto but apparently the developers love this region, since they gave their name to this port city located on the Rialto Bay.

Here is an official description of the game's location, the trailer and a set of images.

The moors of Thedas

You've already visited the lands of Thedas three times in our games, and many more times in comic books, artwork, and short stories. This time you will venture to unknown places and return to places far away in time.

We are on the verge of change. This is a world full of stories and characters waiting to meet you. The fate of this world hangs in the balance. In past games, you could only see a slice of the world. In Origins, it was Ferelden, a land ravaged by war and Dark Spawn. In II, it was Kirkwall and its surroundings, infested with corruption and a dark underworld. In Inquisition, on the other hand, you ventured into much of Orlais, dealing with political intrigue as much as fighting.

This time, however, you will be able to see much more of the Thedas. The desolate and beautiful gullies of the Anderfels with the curtains of distant mountain spires. The winding canals and gleaming towers of Antiva, where Crows can lurk in every shadow. The turquoise seas of Rivain, with its green rushes and hardy seafarers. And of course there's more.

We thought this time was the best thing for the story we wanted to tell, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did! It allowed us to create a lot more environments than in previous games, including some that you wanted to go to... and others you've never heard of before!

The places you'll go to

To capture the wonders of Thedas, we teamed up with three wonderfully talented artists from our community and gave them a first look at what you've seen now. We've always been fortunate to have such an incredibly skilled community of artists, and working with these three has been such a joy!
