The rumors were correct: Bethesda released today, at the Quakecon show, Quake II - Enhanced Edition, a revised and improved version of the legendary FPS of 1997, complete with cross-play multiplayer support and expansions.

The game, available today and included in the Game Pass, allows us to relive one of the titles that have changed and shaped the FPS scene forever, including the frenetic single player campaign, multiple expansion packs including the brand new Call of the Machine expansion created for the occasion by MachineGames and over 20 multiplayer Deathmatch maps playable in cross-play. But that's not all: the game also includes Quake II 64, a port of the game originally published by Midway exclusively for Nintendo 64. The whole game is also playable in split-screen co-op or online.
