Rumor: the new Xbox event arrives on January 25 and will be called Developers_Direct
Now the increasingly active British journalist Jez Corden has published on Windows Central an exclusive in this regard: according to multiple sources with whom he spoke, the new event will be called Developer_Direct and is part of a new initiative by Microsoft to offer more frequent updates on titles in development, outside of the big annual fairs such as E3. The creation of this event is, in all likelihood, the reason why the Redmond house did not show First Party titles at the recent The Game Awards.
Also according to Jez Corden's sources, the Developer_Direct will be broadcast on Twitch and YouTube on January 25 at 21:00 (Italian time), although this date may be subject to change. The show should see insights on Redfall, Minecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport and ZeniMax Online Studios content, and it therefore seems that Starfield will be missing, which, according to Corden, will be the protagonist of "a marketing action of a higher level": we therefore assume a dedicated event.
As the name suggests, it will not be a "big event" like those of E3 but more of an in-depth look at some of the productions of the Xbox and Bethesda studios, a "direct line" with the developers who will show us the progress on their titles and make announcements such as launch dates.
Obviously for now everything remains at the level of unconfirmed rumor: we await the official announcement of Microsoft!
