3D Realms today released a new trailer for the sci-fi horror-FPS co-op RIPOUT, developed by Pet Project Games and coming in 2023. The video gives us a new look at the game's gameplay, where we'll fight using customizable biotech weapons that feature the Living Pet Weapon (LPW), a creepy living gun that is able to absorb advanced technologies from downed mutants, including biotech upgrades for shields, plasma, and teleportation.

The game also features a unique system that sees enemies able to reconfigure their bodies and assimilate other enemies to create horrible masses of threatening biological and technological material. Players must deal with these ever-evolving threats with their co-op partners in procedurally generated levels that offer a variety of missions and objectives to suit different playstyles.

RIPOUT is set in the 22nd century, a time when humanity has gone beyond Earth to conquer the solar system. An interplanetary revolution for humanity began, but it quickly proved disastrous. This new expansion was met with new threats: alien forces emerged and threatened this new golden age. Desperate to find a way to keep them at bay, humanity developed a cell that regenerated soldiers' tissues at superhuman speeds. But the cell became sentient, causing those soldiers to turn into creepy, bloodthirsty mutants. With humanity's savior quickly becoming his downfall, soldiers are deployed using the latest biotech weapons to confront the mutants that have invaded the fleet of warships, turning them into derelict and deadly cemeteries.
