Need for Speed Unbound is officially revealed in an adrenaline-fueled trailer

After yesterday's leak , EA finally revealed today Need for Speed Unbound, criterion's new racer coming on December 2 only on next-generation platforms. The announcement trailer released today confirms the graphic style leaked from the previous screenshots, halfway between realism, cel-shading and "neon graffiti" stille effects: certainly a distinctive and unique style, which recalls the historic Japanese racer Initial D.

The thrill of the race and the impetus of the chase are back. Need for Speed Unbound , the latest edition of Electronic Arts and Criterion Games' Need for Speed franchise, puts players around the world at the wheel of their road racing fantasy, as they outperform the cops and prove they have what it takes to win The Grand, Lakeshore's latest road racing challenge.
Need for Speed Unbound features a brand new and unique visual style, blending elements of street art with the most realistic cars in the franchise's history. The innovative single player campaign delivers excitement and consequences through compelling storytelling, involving players in the city of Lakeshore as they race, collect, upgrade and customize the world's hottest high-performance cars to reach the top of the scene.
Need for Speed Unbound is built for the next generation of technology and will feature 4K resolution at 60 FPS for the first time in the series, when it launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on December 2, 2022.
STARTING FROM THE BOTTOM, ASPIRING TO THE SUMMIT
Need for Speed Unbound challenges the conventions of the racing genre and raises the stakes by introducing real consequences with risks and rewards of great impact for every race, decision and secondary bet made. Players discover the world of Lakeshore when a robbery at a family car store divides two friends and forces a novice driver on a journey to win the last road race and recover the priceless car that was stolen from him. Need for Speed Unbound offers:
  • The world is every player's canvas: Graffiti comes to life in a new art style as players traverse the city equipped with a brand new kit of high-energy visual and sound effects, such as Burst Nitrous, which rewards players with a style-based boost, which reflects their way of driving.
  • Running through the streets: The more players run, the more they accumulate heat. Choose to outwit the cops in speed or cunning by using new escape mechanics to take control of the chase and earn big rewards or even more serious consequences if you get arrested.
  • Personal Expression and Style: Hundreds of cosmetic items, including exclusive licensed items from some of the fashion pioneers and custom automotive accessory companies, offer players endless possibilities not only to equip their car, but also to show off their personal style in the game.
  • Find freedom in the flow: A soundtrack by cutting-edge artists from the hip-hop world, led by award-winning artist, entrepreneur, actor and fashion icon A$AP Rocky and his creative agency AWGE, which includes the world premiere of A$AP Rocky's newest track "Sh*ttin' Me", also featured in the reveal trailer.
  • Takeover Scene with A$AP Rocky: A$AP Rocky will appear in the game as the leader of the Takeover Scene, a new replayable precision driving mode that brings the community together to conquer parts of the city and celebrate driving in style over pure speed. AWGE also served as creative consultant for the game.
