EA and Maxis today announced that the popular life sim The Sims 4 will become free-to-play from October 18, thus allowing everyone to download and play it for free in its basic version. The development team will then focus on making extra paid content such as packs, kits, and Sims Express Deliveries for players who want to expand their experience.

Those who have already purchased the game by October 17 will also receive the Desert Luxury Kit as a gift, which will allow our Sims to relax in their modern oasis with luxurious indoor and outdoor furnishings, inspired by the natural landscape of the Southwest desert and materials such as stone and wood.
