Obsidian's new RPG, Pentiment, arrives in mid-November
The game sees us explore the medieval history of the sixteenth century through the Munich manuscripts of the time, with a 2D graphics that follow the illustrations of these works.
Set in sixteenth-century Upper Bavaria, at the time of the Holy Roman Empire, Pentiment will see us take on the role of Andreas Maler, a very intelligent itinerant artist who becomes involved in a series of murders and scandals that span 25 years in the fictional city of Tassing and Kiersau Abbey.
We will decide Andreas' choices, from his training to his lifestyle, to the way he investigates the murders that happen around him. From sneaking into the abbey's library late at night to examine secret documents, to playing a game of favorite card game in a tavern to get information from who's playing, it's up to us to choose how to use the precious time we're given to investigate suspects. Every decision and accusation that Andreas takes brings with it consequences that will affect the close-knit Alpine community for generations to come.
The title will be present in playable form at Gamescom, and we at MondoXbox are planning a session with the developers who will illustrate us and make us try the title: expect videos and impressions from the event!
