Square Enix today announced the development of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, a remaster of the 2007 PSP title of the same name expected in early 2023 with a profound redesign of characters, backdrops, 3D models and gameplay.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a prequel to Final Fantasy VII and takes place seven years before this, showing us many places still under construction or slightly different from those seen in the main title; the story follows the protagonist Zack Fair, a SOLDIER 1st Class, on his mission to find the missing companion Genesis Rhapsodos and, over the course of his adventure, will reveal the stories of Cloud, Sephiroth, Aeith, Tifa and other iconic characters from FF7.
