Electronic Arts and DICE today announced Battlefield 2042 Season 1: Zero Hour, the first season of post-launch content from the war FPS. Available from June 9 on all supported platforms, this season features a new map, a new Specialist, and revolutionary additions to the player's arsenal of weapons and gadgets.

This content will be available for free to all players as part of the new Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass. Additional cosmetic items, including legendary skins and melee takedowns, will be obtainable through the Premium version of the Battle Pass.

In Zero Hour players can travel to the Canadian Rockies and traverse the extreme vertical terrain of the new Exposure map. Ground-to-air combat and infantry combat are planned inside caves and between mountain ridges. Exposure will be available in All-Out Warfare and Portal at the launch of Season 1.

This new season introduces Ewelina Lis, the new Battlefield 2042 Specialist, a renowned assassin exceptionally adept at locating and destroying armored ground vehicles and aircraft. Lis' rocket launcher, which fires remote-controlled missiles for millimeter accuracy, and the Armor Hunter trait, which provides valuable information, make her a deadly enemy for any vehicle on the ground or in the sky.

Zero Hour also adds a number of new vehicles and collectibles. Pilot the new gunboats RAH-68 Huron and YG-99 Hannibal, equipped with radar deflection and advanced defensive capabilities. Choose from normal, light, heavy and explosive ammunition with the Ghostmaker R10 crossbow and adapt to different combat situations. Eliminate enemies from afar in All-Out Warfare with the BSV-M Marksman Rifle, ideal for mid-range combat. Finally, the new smoke grenade launcher can be used in both offensive and defensive situations to open new windows of opportunity and provide additional coverage to teams.

Zero Hour brings with it a number of fixes to game updates since the launch of Battlefield 2042, covering stability, game balance, gunplay, vehicle management, performance, and more. In addition, Battlefield Portal is receiving a plethora of new content, including new features and arsenals from Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Bad Company 2 , and Battlefield 3.
