British studio Rebellion announced today that Sniper Elite 5, the new installment in their war FPS series, will arrive on May 26, confirming its arrival on Game Pass at launch. The announcement is accompanied by a new trailer that gives us new details about the plot and the main characters, while the experienced sniper Karl Fairburne discovers a Nazi plot to reverse the fortunes of the Second World War, codenamed Operation Kraken.

Karl will have to use all the skills at his disposal to gather information about the Nazi plans and make sure that they are never realized. This will pit him against Abelard Möller, an Axis Obergruppenführer, who must be stopped at all costs.

Sniper Elite 5 will feature an extensive playable campaign also in online co-op mode for 2 players, with locations carefully recreated using photogrammetry to ensure a deeply immersive experience. Online, the new Invasion Mode will allow players to enter the opposing player's campaign and take on the role of an Axis sniper with high rewards on offer. This mode adds a whole new dimension to the intense drama of the game and an extra variety for the enemies you will face on the battlefield. In addition, 16 players can face each other in competitive multiplayer in a variety of game modes.
