GTA V for new consoles: details, transfer saves and screenshots
The British studio has revealed the optimizations that this new version of the game will enjoy: console players will be able to enjoy the high definition textures already present in the PC version and graphics modes to choose from to obtain a maximum resolution of 4K, a frame rate of up to 60 frames per second, HDR graphics and ray tracing: we will also find faster uploads and 3D audio.
Rockstar has also announced that it is already possible to export our saves of the current version of the game, to be able to import them into the new version. Here is the specific information for GTA V (story mode), GTA Online and the save transfer.
Grand Theft Auto V
We will be able to choose between three graphic settings to customize our gaming experience. Graphics Fidelity mode offers the highest visual quality by aiming for the 30 FPS threshold. This mode supports native 4K resolution with active ray tracing. The Performance mode prefers more responsive gameplay and aims for 60 FPS. This mode supports scaled resolution in 4K (1080p on Series S). There is also, only on Series X, the Ray Tracing Performance mode, a hybrid between the two modes that uses a scaled resolution in 4K with active ray tracing and aims at the threshold of 60 FPS.
These new versions of the game also offer general improvements, such as faster loading times, greater variety of population and traffic, increased vegetation density, improved lighting quality in shadows, reflections on water, and other elements. In addition, anti-aliasing and motion-blur have been improved, explosions have been enriched with details, as well as flames, and much more.
Grand Theft Auto Online
The new generation of GTA Online will include a number of new vehicles and a bonus for Los Santos: Hao's Special Works Rally.
Hao's Special Works makes the best upgrades for vehicles and includes a new series of races with ad hoc special vehicles, a weekly rotation of Hao's Special Works Time Trials, and a premium test vehicle that we can test for free.
In addition to being included in GTAV, GTA Online will be available for the first time as a standalone title on new consoles.
To survive in Los Santos a gun is not enough, so we decided to introduce the new career selection dedicated particularly to those who face the world of GTA Online and to those who want to perform a reset of their character and start again; is ideal for entering the criminal world of Southern San Andreas on the right foot. Thanks to this novelty, we will have 4,000,000 GTA$ to buy essential items, such as property, vehicles, and weapons.
In addition, the game will include a wide assortment of gameplay improvements, including a new tutorial for new players, and a new main menu that allows us to directly access Freemode, shots, races, Competition modes, latest featured weekly content and more.
GTA Online Story and Character Transfer Mode
Those who play the old-gen version of the title will be able to transfer the progress of GTA V's Story Mode and GTA Online characters to Xbox Series X|SPS5, or between game platforms, in a single step.
Players can now transfer their progress to Story Mode by uploading a save to Rockstar Games' Social Club. To start this process, just log in to GTA V on our consoles by connecting the Social Club account, access the Game tab of the pause menu and select the Upload option. It is possible to upload only one save for each platform: the saves will remain available for 90 days.
In addition, players with a Social Club account can transfer the game progress of their GTA Online character from March 15. The transfer will include characters, GTA$ (those purchased will only be transferable between consoles of the same brand, while those earned by playing do not have this limitation), progress, statistics, vehicles, properties, weapons, clothing and activities created by users.
We conclude by leaving you to a set of images taken from this new version of the game.
