Today was held as planned the new live event dedicated to Sea of Thieves, during which Mike Chapman and Joe Neate of Rare outlined the news coming later in the year for the now very popular title, anticipating how this could be the biggest year ever for the franchise.

First, the team explained that the seasonal content of the title will be enriched with two new experiences: Adventures and Mysteries. The Adventures will be story-driven events that will take place once a month and last for two weeks, offering us exciting new ways to experience the world of the game; the actions of the players in the three Adventures of each season will then lead to a grand season finale that will be influenced by these actions.

The first Adventure story will be called Shrouded Islands and will take place from February 17th to March 3rd; you can see the trailer below. Here Sareo struggling with a ghostly blanket that has swallowed and destroyed the Golden Sands outpost, caused by Captain Flameheart. Our pirates will respond to a request for help from Larinna to investigate the remains of the outpost and discover the truth about this destructive fog through a series of story missions around the map.

The Mysteries,on the other hand, are collaborative events that will see the community interact both inside the game and outside it, on social media and other communication channels, to solve complex puzzles inspired by yellow degrees and ghost stories. The first of these Mysteries will see all players work together to solve the murder of a well-known character.

But the news does not end anymore: with the Sixth Season of Sea of Thieves arriving in March will come the Sea Forts, which will offer us a raid-like experience in which we will have to surrender these forts defended by ghost pirates. Unlike the existing Skeletal Forts,this new challenge is designed specifically for individual crews regardless of their size, so much so that it will also be tackled alone.

We will find three types of Forts:In the area The Wilds will be large prisons, full of cells and instruments of torture, while in the Sea of the Damned we will find classic Spanish forts and, finally, in the rest of the map we will find scattered forts rich in fauna and flora. New story events throughout the year will then explain why these Forts appeared in the seas of Sea of Thieves.

News also coming for the Athena Travels,with new trips dedicated to the Legendary Pirates: randomized adventures that will offer us different tasks and reappearances each time. Finally the team explained that the Arena mode will be closed. It seems that only 2% of players take advantage of this mode, and therefore the team has decided to concentrate all resources in the main mode, abandoning this competitive multiplayer experiment that seems not to have made inroads into the hearts of players.
