Playground Games co-founder Gavin Raeburn leaves the studio
Being a historical name in the videogame scene, it is not to be excluded that Raeburn wants to start enjoying a well-deserved pension and definitely ... "golden", being one of the main beneficiaries of the acquisition of Playground by Microsoft, which took place in 2018.
You can really talk about Raeburn as someone who has made the history of gaming, especially of the racing genre, having in the past linked his name to the great successes of Codemasters: TOCA Championship, DiRT, Grid.
The creation of Playground Games in 2009 marked another turning point: the Leamington Spa studio has been noted, since its debut with the first Forza Horizon, as one of the most accredited and talented developers in the industry and today represents one of the leading names of the Xbox Game Studios team. However, Raeburn's exit seems to take place in the name of continuity: in the role of CEO he will take over Trevor Williams, another co-founder of the firm and current General Manager of the company.
It would therefore seem that there is nothing to fear for the current and future projects of Playground Games (moreover Raeburn for its own story is certainly "closer" to the Forza series than to the next Fable coming soon), but it is a change at the command post however relevant.
