Good news for fans of Wasteland 3: inXile announced tonight a new expansion coming on October 5, the Cult of the Sacred Explosion. This new DLC will introduce new game areas, new enemies and a new part of the story that revolves around a cult of fighters perched in an old military base.

Deep in the Cheyenne Mountainmilitary complex, mutant cults worship an ancient deity they call the Sacred Explosion,a nuclear explosion held in stasis. Whether it's a god, a science experiment, or an accidental miracle, the energy of the Explosion could power Colorado Springs for hundreds of years or level it in an instant. Cults at war have different opinions about who should be allowed to honor their god, and we will have to make our way to the altar. It's the last mission for the Rangers in Colorado and the result is sure to be explosive, one way or another.

The Cult of the Sacred Explosion expands the Experience of Wasteland 3 with the entry into the Cheyenne Mountain complex, chock-full of new characters, enemies, challenging clashes, and powerful new weapons and armor. Our ranger team will be put to the test like never before in objective-based encounters that give a creative twist to the already deeply tactical turn-based combat. Faced with overwhelming odds, the Rangers will have to shut down reactors, clean ventilation systems, and take defensive countermeasures to stem an endless wave of mutants and machines inside the dilapidated military bunker.
