Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Piranha Bytes have announced ELEX II,coming out on old-gen and next-generation consoles on a later date. ELEX II is the direct sequel to the first ELEX,and like that is an open world RPG created by the award-winning creators of the Gothic and Risen series. The title is set in the post-apocalyptic sci-fi world of Magalan, it will have huge environments that can also be explored via jetpack.

A new threat comes from the sky, endangering all life on the planet. To defend the peace over Magalan and the safety of his own family, the protagonist Jax embarks on a mission to convince the factions to unite to defeat the invaders and to find his son Dex mysteriously missing.

The scenarios will be rich in NPCs with which to interact and possibly enter our group. He may stay or leave the group depending on how we behave. They can even be killed, which will affect history. We will live a story in which our actions will have consequences.

The fights promise to be very fluid both remotely and closely with a significantly improved control system compared to what was seen in the first ELEX.
