Publisher Eastasiasoft and Chinese developer Softstar Entertainment have announced that the RPG based on Chinese mythology Xuan Yuan Sword 7 will arrive on our consoles in the summer, marking the debut in western markets of a successful series in China for over 30 years.

Despite the number in the title, Xuan Yuan Sword 7 will present itself as an easy entry point in the saga,offering a story independent of previous episodes and dynamic fights in real time. Set 2000 years ago in China, near the end of Western Han rule, Xuan Yuan Sword 7 puts players as the noble swordsman Taishi Zhao on the trail of a mysterious bamboo relic that was supposed to bring prosperity, but left a trail of famine and misery. To protect his family and seek the truth about this calamity, Taishi Zhao embarks on a journey through a mythological kingdom full of otherworldly beings.

Along the way, Taishi Zhao will have to master a number of combat techniques. Armed with the Elysium Scroll, it can slow down time, absorb monsters, or alter the environment. We can also upgrade armor and weapons and develop new skills and techniques. Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is a celebration of the landscape, civilization and culture of ancient China, infused with the mystique of its legends. With a story deeply rooted in ancient Chinese history and mythology, the game reimagines both as a fantastic and chaotic kingdom under the rule of a new Xin dynasty.
