The Coalition and Microsoft have now finally shown and revealed more information about gears 5's Hivebusters expansion , announced in October and of which little was known so far. First we learn that the expansion, released on December 15,will be included in the Ultimate Game Pass (and also playable via xCloud) while those who do not subscribe to the service can buy it for the price of 19.99 Euros.

The expansion will immerse us in a new story lasting 3 hours putting us in the shoes of the Scorpio Squad, specialists in the elimination of locust nests already protagonists of the game's Escape mode; here we will explore the team's past,grappling with their first suicide mission to the Galangi volcanic islands,characterized by lava rivers and sandy beaches, where we will clash with new enemies and we can take advantage of new skills and weapons. Everything will also be playable in 3-player co-ops,split screen or online, and will allow us to unlock 16 new objectives for 210 Gamerscore points. Of course the expansion will support all Xbox Series X|S optimizations of the game.
