After rumours and speculation, the official word from Microsoft comes: there is no change to Xbox Live and Live Gold. The news comes after the word "Xbox Live" was removed from the Microsoft Service Agreement,and after some insiders had suggested the next cancellation of Live Gold.

The Windows Central site then asked About Microsoft, receiving this response from a company spokesperson:"The change to 'Xbox online service' in the Microsoft Services Agreement refers to the Xbox core service that includes all features such as cross-save and friend requests. This nomenclature change is intended to distinguish this basic service and the Xbox Live Gold paid subscription. We're not making any changes to the service experience or To Xbox Live Gold."

So it seems that we should not expect any major changes to Live Gold, at least for the time being!
