We inform you that since this morning the first legendary Psychonauts,released on the first Xbox 15 years ago, is free to download from the Store. This welcome novelty comes as a surprise and is probably related to the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of Double Fine; Tim Shafer's studio was founded in July 2000.

The downloadable game is the version for the first Xbox that can be retrocompiled, but as with all the backward-compatible titles of that generation it is powered by the Xbox One emulator and even runs at 4K natives on Xbox One X (excluding pre-reduced movies, of course). A great opportunity to get acquainted with this psychedelic platformer series, especially if you were fascinated by the recent trailer of Psychonauts 2!
