After the announcement of thisyear's absence of an official WWE 2K title, 2K announced today that it will not leave wrestling fans dry: at the end of the year WWE 2K Battlegroundswill arrive, an arcade fight title that will see some wrestling legends portrayed in a caricatured version clash.

For now, little is known about the game, other than the publisher's following words:"Whether you're a casual gamer or a fight game enthusiast, WWE 2K Battlegrounds will give you a whole new way to experience a WWE video game. The game is developed by Saber Interactive,the studio that has been involved in NBA 2K Playgrounds, which has worked hard at WWE 2K Battlegrounds and is looking forward to it.
WWE 2K Battlegrounds will be released next fall, we will release more information in the coming months."
