The fifth season of Apex Legends has been postponed by a week and will then kick off on May 12th. To bid farewell to the fourth season, Respawn has announced a new event, Battle Armor,which will be available to players starting Tuesday, April 28.

The new event was detailed in a post on the game's official website by Jason McCord, Apex Legends'director of design.

The special feature of this event, which will take place onthe World's Edgemap, is to award all players a fixed-level shield, resulting in the removal of shields from the recoverable loot on the battlefield.

During the event, the shields provided will be of a different level, according to this calendar (all changes will be active at 19 Italian time on the day indicated):

• From April 28 to May 2, players will have white-level shields
  
• From May 2 to May 6 players will have blue level shields
  
• From May 6 to May 9 players will have purple level shields

For the grand finale, from May 9 to May 12, all players will be equipped with shields of the new Evotype, introduced for the first time last month: this shield increases in effectiveness depending on the damage caused, thus encouraging a very aggressive style of play.

In addition, during this final phase the double XP prize will be activated for all ratings in THE 5, in any game mode. This bonus, along with the one-week extension of the season, is a great opportunity to take advantage of the Battle Pass further and take some last level in the Ranks of the Ranked.
