Square Enix has announced the development for our NieR Replicant consoles ver.1.22474487139..., a re-release of the NieR Replicant that came out on PS3 exclusively in Japan in 2010 and that differs in a few details from the NieR that arrived in the same year in Western markets. Confused? Let's get this straight.

When Square Enix released the game in Japan in 2010, it created two editions to be released exclusively on the two consoles: NieR Gestalt came out on Xbox 360 and told the story of a father, Nier, looking for a cure for his daughter Yonah. At the same time, he was released on PS3 NieR Replicant, which, while presenting identical history and settings, changed Nier's appearance by making him younger and making yonah's brother rather than his father.

In the West, only NieR Gestaltarrived, on both Xbox 360 and PS3, under the simple name of NieR; is what probably some of you have already played (unfortunately it's not backward-comatible on Xbox One). Now Square Enix brings the re-issue of the ps3 exclusive title to Japan on the current consoles, allowing us to relive the same events as NieR but with the youngest protagonist/brother.

This remaster will have all the voices completely doubled in English; it is not clear for now whether Italian subtitles will be present, but it is a Square Enix production we would be surprised that they were not there. The developers, however, want to explain that it is not a remaster or a remake:producer Yosuke Saito explains that it is a kind of "enhanced version", with numerous elements added to the original title and perhaps even a new ending; the soundtrack will also be revised with the addition of new tracks by the original composer (and also author of the soundtrack of NieR Automata) Keiichi Okabe.
