According to a report by GamesIndustry, Codemasters has just acquired Slightly Mad Studios,a British developer specializing in racing games and author among others of Need for Speed: Shift and Project CARS.

The studio will bolster codemasters'already strong racing title production, responsible today for popular franchises such as F1, GRID and DiRT Rally; The publisher explains that Slightly Mad is currently working on a racing game dedicated to a famous film license (it is assumed to be a new Fast & Furious)and on a completely new IP.
