DOOM Eternal sled in March 2020
Through the announcement, the development team explains some of the reasons for the postponement: the statement states that "during the development of DOOM Eternal, our goal was to create a game that was able to exceed your expectations across the board. To make sure we develop the best possible experience – so that DOOM Eternal lives up to our speed and cleanliness standards – we have made the decision to move the launch date by a few months until March 20, 2020. We understand that many fans will be disappointed by this delay, but we are convinced that DOOM Eternal will offer a gaming experience worth waiting for.
In addition to the news of the slip, the statement gives us some updates regarding the game that we report below:
- Invasionmode, which will allow you to enter another player's game as a demon, will be released as a free update shortly after launch.
- DOOM 64 will be available on Xbox One 4. We are adding DOOM 64 as a pre-order bonus for DOOM Eternal on all platforms so you can download and play this classic game for free by pre-ordering DOOM Eternal. DOOM 64 will be released on March 20, 2020 on all platforms.
If you're a DOOM fan, you'll need to be patient for a few more months before you can play DOOM Eternal; in the meantime, we'll be waiting for more news and updates on the game, so we'll keep you informed.
