Microsoft prepares a remake of the Xbox One home, removes Cortana from the console
The new features are all aimed at making the operating system more efficient and faster, lightening it of unnecessary activities making any action faster and more immediate; As for the Homescreen, this will receive a redesign (pictured above) that not only gives more space tothe latest titles played, but also removes the various "pages" dedicated to Mixer, Store, Game Pass and Community; these areas will now be accessible via pits in the Home itself, under the image of the game currently running. It is important to note, however, that Microsoft considers this design experimental and notdefinitive: the contribution of the Xbox Insiders will serve precisely to fine-tune it, highlight any problems and review it until it reaches a satisfactory set-up and releaseable to all users.
Another new feature, again with a view to improving performance, is the total removal of Cortana from the console OS: you will no longer be able to give her voice commands via Kinect (but you will still be able to use the original voice commands without Cortana, like "Xbox turn on") or via microphone for voice chat. Microsoft explains that, for voice control features, it now relies solely on cloud systems such as Amazon Alexa (recently used with Xbox also inItaly) and Cortana itself with the Xbox Skill that can be used via the app Cortana on iOS, Android, and Windows, or with the Harmon Kardon Invoke speaker. Through these systems we will be able to give the same commands "turn on/off Xbox", "volume raise" and so on that until now we have been able to issue directly to the console with Cortana.
