The studio Snapshot Games, founded by the creator of the XCOM series Julian Gollop, announced today that the new turn-based strategic title Phoenix Point will arrive on September 3 ON Xbox One and PC. The title is seen as a spiritual successor of the XCOM series, with the same type of tactical turn-based gameplay but with many evolutions even compared to the latest titles in the series.

The story at the base is more or less the same: the earth is the victim of an alien invasion, but this time coming from our own planet because of an ancient virus freed from the melting of the polar ice caps, which transformed the aquatic fauna into alien monsters.
