Microsoft: the goal of the new studies is to release a triple-A game per quarter
But the most interesting thing in the report of the shareholder is on the new studies acquired by MS in 2018 and that, albeit in smaller numbers, will be acquired this year; for Microsoft, the primary goal of these (and of course of studies already were part of the team) is to release a AAA game per quarter , so to keep up the interest in the Game passes. This does not mean, however, that the House of Redmond wants to hurry to the studios to produce new titles as soon as possible, and States that it will probably take some time before each team gets up to speed with the production of quality titles.
This statement is very interesting for two reasons: the first is that the goal of Microsoft is to release no less than four triple-A titles per year , not making them all go out at the end of the year, but distributed over all four seasons . And another interesting thing is the fact that the Declaration speaks of AAA titles instead of indie productions or "triple-I" as some call the indie production of higher value (like Hellblade , for example); apparently studies how Ninja Theory, Obsidian, inXile, and Compulsion and others will all be engaged in the production of titles from the big-budget, that will require more time to be produced.
We can't wait for Microsoft begin to discover their own cards on the first games produced by new studies: E3 2019 should prove particularly interesting in this respect.
